Redruth 2nd XV, who pulled off their second league win of the season with a tight 36-34 away victory over Tavistock are on their travels yet again this coming Saturday. This time they stay in Cornwall, but only just, with a trip to Bude.

Our opponents are a relatively new club in Cornish rugby terms, having been founded in 1966. They played their first ever game against HMS Raleigh, a Royal Navy training establishment at Torpoint. Their team then was composed mainly of boys from local schools and the club had no home ground. They did eventually managed to find somewhere to play but twice had to move again because the sites were earmarked for development. They finally arrived at their current home in 1985.

They started the league system in Cornwall 1 (Tier 9) in 1987 and were promoted to Cornwall/Devon league (Tier 8) in 1991 dropping back down after two seasons. They went up again in 1996 and this time lasted for five seasons before relegation . However, they spent just one season in tier 9 before winning promotion again. A year later they again went up, this time to Western Counties West (Tier 7). Relegation came again in 2017 and it would be 2024 before they came back into tier 7. They are currently in 7th place in the table, one point above the Reds and have won two of their five games.
