The 2nds are again travelling to Devon this coming Saturday, to face Tavistock. The team will be in good heart having recorded their first win of the season against Bideford last week.
Tavistock are a relatively new club, having been founded at the beginning of the 1970s. Prior to this, rugby in the immediate area was mainly confined to Kelly College, a public school just outside the town.
Tavistock were promoted from Devon League 1 to Western Counties West at the end of the 2023-24 season after finishing 6th in the old Cornwall/Devon league the year before. This is the second time they have played at this level, having been relegated from Western Counties West back in 2015 when they finished second from bottom, just above St Ives. They had previously been been relegated from WCW, in 2011.
They are currently in 10th place in the table having won just one of their matches this season, a 36-14 home defeat of Bideford.
