Fresh from the mud bath of the comprehensive home win over Bournville last weekend, the Reds make the relatively short trip across the Tamar to take on Exeter University at Topsham
Last weeks 33-10 win moves us up to 6th in the table but it is still very tight with just four points separating 9th place Hornets and 5th place Luctonians. The Reds will be looking for a five pointer against the students to consolidate our position, which will be helped if our friends down the road see off Loughborough Students at home.
The unknown quantity with Exeter University looking to see which team is going to turn up. They have close links with Exeter Chiefs and often field that club’s Academy players. The University has also enjoyed considerable success in the BUCS competitions.
In the earlier fixture back in September, Redruth won a competitive match 45-30 when our visitors were fourth in the table. Their season has not gone as well as they might wish and they start this coming weekend in 11th place. They haven’t had a competitive game since before Christmas, their trip to Macclesfield last week fell victim to the weather.
Kick-off 2.00pm. Referee: Nathan Howarth. Assistant Referees: Peter Dixon- Andy Bickle.
