After last weeks nail biter up at Old Redcliffians, where we came close to ending their impressive home record, the 1st XV faces a tough challenge at home against league leaders Luctonians.
Our visitors are currently the only unbeaten side in our league with five wins out of five, their last match ending in a 66-5 drubbing of league newcomers Macclesfield. They have scored 24 tries so far this season with their tightest game being their 15-13 win away at Cinderford.
Luctonians started life in 1948 as Old Luctonians, their early players being, in the main, former pupils of Lucton School which is near Leominster. They swiftly became one of the most successful junior clubs in the Midlands contributing a large number of players to the old Herefordshire county side.
Their headquarters, near the village of Kingsland is also a real centre of sporting activity with cycling, cricket, archery, rounders, netball and pétanque all taking place at Mortimer Park.
