Redruth host Exeter University this coming Saturday in our second home league game of the season. The Reds will be looking to make a statement in front of the home crowd after losing 34-22 on the road at Bournville.
Our visitors are currently in 4th place in the table and have not lost so far this season. A fiercely fought 15 all draw at home to Clifton on the first Saturday of the new campaign was followed by a 59-19 away in over league newcomers Devonport Services and then last week, a 43-24 defeat of visiting Macclesfield.
While fixtures with Exeter University only started a couple of seasons ago, their predecessors, St Luke's College, were regular visitors in the 1950s and 60s. The College was one of the great rugby nurseries and would often turn up with a sprinkling of Devon County players and the occasional international.
The Reds have been badly hit with injuries and a number of young players have been drafted into the 1st XV. Match Day sponsor PFK Francis Clark
