On Friday evening the Reds set out on the long journey to Newport (Salop) RFC, just the mere 565 mile round trip!
Newport play their rugby in the beautiful county of Shropshire and are another club with a 3G pitch.
Our hosts are having a season to forget and currently sit in 14th and last place with 24 points and are already relegated. Although they have only 3 wins to their name, all coming at home against Dudley-Kingswinford, Bournville and Hinckley, they have also had numerous narrow defeats that on another season could have gone their way and see them much higher up in the league. Last week for instance they pushed Exeter University close only losing 29-24 down in Devon. Newport's top try scorers are Eathan Harvey (wing) and Hendry Vaka (centre) both with 8 and Connor Adams (centre) is their top points scorer with 71.
The Reds were part of yet another thriller last week with Hinckley drawing the match with the last kick of the game. This was remarkably the Reds 4th drawn league game out of 22, probably some sort of record! Add to that the draw on Boxing day and its been some season for tight games. Matt Pritchard leads the way with tries on 8 and Rhys Brownfield just tops the points tally with 43.
The Reds currently sit in 8th place with 60 points having won 10 and drawn 4 matches.
Referee: James Dowds.
Assistant Referees: Fred Spong & Adrian Holmes.

Top of the Table
This tale took a twist last Saturday with Luctonians going down by 10-8 at home to Clifton. This loss puts Dings Crusaders back on top and they have by far the easiest run in with 3 home matches out of the 4 to play. Advantage Dings!
Dings Crusader to play, Newport away and at home Exeter, Camborne and Redruth.
Luctonians to play Chester and Hinckley away and Hornets and Dudley at Home.
