Redruth RFC are deeply saddened at the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II (Elizabeth Alexandra Mary) aged 96 years.
The thoughts of all at the club are with the Royal family at this sad time.

As the nation mourns this amazing lady we should reflect on her magnificent service to this country. She reigned for 70 years and 214 days, this being the longest of any British monarch and the second-longest recorded of any monarch of a sovereign country. At the time of her death, Elizabeth was also Queen of 14 other Commonwealth realms, in addition to the United Kingdom.

The Queen had been a constant in all of our lives, first as Princess Elizabeth and then for most of us as Queen. There is no question that from last night something changed and all will remember where they were when they heard the news. It is like we have lost a member of our own family.

The Queen is dead long live the King.
