Visit the Redruth RFC stall under the town clock.

Each year Redruth celebrates its most famous citizen, inventor William Murdoch, with an exciting programme of events including children's dance and art procession, all day music and entertainment, a street market, old tyme fair, exhibitions and a variety of live concerts and other events round the town.

NEW Route – Murdoch Day Children’s Parade – 10am
Starting and finishing in the car park behind the Regal Cinema

10am – The highlight of the day for many is the parade by the town’s young people. Over 10 local schools take part performing the Murdoch Day Spring Dance accompanied by Helston Town Band & Illogan Sparnon Silver Band. See displays of professional artwork created with assistance of the children on the theme of “A Royal Celebration” interspersed with music from Golowan Band, Haylestorm Samba Band and a joint schools Samba Band.

A Community Afternoon Dance, proceeding at 3pm from the bottom of Fore Street to Flowerpot Chapel car park. Unique music and dance especially scripted for Murdoch Day by Bev-Lyn School of Dance. Want to take part in this easy Afternoon Dance –we have a rehearsal at Trewirgie Junior School Hall, Falmouth Road on Wednesday 25th May, 7.30-8.30pm, all welcome and free refreshments. Murdoch House in Cross Street - Memories of Old Redruth
Open from 9.30 till 4 for tea, coffee and homemade cake and savouries. Call in to visit this Historic House, the first in the world lit by gas, and see our exhibition of photographs of Redruth's Past, kindly supplied by local Author and Writer Paddy Bradley.

Redruth Story Group, Redruth Community Centre – 10-4pm. Staging an exhibition on the life of William Murdoch and the history of lighting. Refreshments all day.

Grand opening of our week long Arts Festival.
Refreshments served throughout the day and light lunches served between 11:30 & 2:30.
10:00 - 4:00 - art and craft exhibitions by local schools and artists - free entry.
10:00 - 1:00 - massive book sale and flea market. All books, c.d.s and d.v.d.s selling at 50p.
11:00 - 12:00 and 1:00 - 2:00 - Cornish Language taster sessions. Come along and learn some useful phrases!
7:30 - "Come to the Cabaret" - join us for a musical celebration of the last 90 years in a relaxed and informal atmosphere. Tickets £5:00 available from the church on Wednesday mornings between 9:30 and 12:00.

Cornish Studies Library, Alma Place, 10am-2pm, Free
Bringing the Brewery Back to Life! We’ll be unveiling an exciting and interactive new artwork inspired by the Redruth Brewery site, created by an artist and local community groups. Drop in and create your own clay addition to the artwork, explore the installation, hear recorded memories of the site, and contribute your own!

Model Exhibition of railway, fairground, old vintage models and lots more. At Wesley Buildings, 10-4pm, all welcome, refreshments served all day.
